Welcome to The Globe

A taste of local and seasonal food at The Globe, Laugharne

The Globe wine bar and restaurant is a natural meeting place, serving a locally-sourced, seasonal menu in relaxed surroundings steeped in heritage.

Our historical building, authentic interior and delicious food makes a visit to The Globe a unique and unforgettable experience in beautiful Laugharne, Carmarthenshire. Dating back to the 18th century, The Globe was formerly an abbatoir, but the building has also been home to a hotel, military billet, horse and coach station as well as a butcher’s shop and a bank.

The Globe is located in the heart of the historic township of Laugharne, once famously described as “a timeless, mild, beguiling island of a town” by Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. Thomas lived in Laugharne from 1949 until his death in 1953.

More recently Globe House featured in the BBC Cymru Wales/S4C thriller, Keeping Faith, starring Eve Myles. Its exterior was depicted as the outside of the office for the fictional legal practice where Myles's character - Faith Howells - worked.
